Tis the Season to be Sparkly

Hello, Gorgeous
The Winter Holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, My Birthday) are my favorite time of year. Yes, my birthday is to be considered a holiday, as is your own. My favorite trend re-visited this Holiday season: silver sequins. Sequins were huge a little more than four years ago, and they have solidly made their return. Whether a holiday dress, a statement purse, or a comfy winter scarf to dress up your sweats- sequins are the perfect way to get in the spirit. Here are some of my favorite pieces...

Items Shown:
(Items are linked where available)
5. ASOS dress: $86.20
6. Haute Hippie Skirt: $395.00
7. Fossil Scarf && Hat: Under $30 per piece

I showed my sequin hat and scarf in a recent haul video (click to watch) and many at first did not think the pair would be able to look classy as opposed to juvenile- but I think they are the perfect addition to my favorite chill winter look (leather jacket, neutral sweater, jeggings, boots). It's glamorous, yet comfortable and practical (atleast, practical for the winter weather in Chicago). Besides that set and the coach wristlet, the other pieces I do not own and think would be perfect holiday additions to my wardrobe. I love the skirt by Haute Hippie, but, I will never pay $400 for a sequined mini skirt. ShopAkira.com has a silver sequin mini skirt  at a much more affordable price-$40.00.

How to wear sequins?
Pick one piece- a dress, a vest, a skirt- and pair it with neutrals. My scarf and hat set meshes well with a black leather jacket and jeggings- any more sequins would look like overkill. A sequin dress looks great with either a leather jacket or black blazer, combined with opaque black tights. The sequins draw enough attention- you don't need sheer tights, cleavage, or any other outrageous statement items since there is already so much going on.

2 blog posts in one week? I told you I was back in action. This has become my new favorite hobby- it's like scrapbooking online. And nobody likes to scrapbook like myself. Leave me a comment below letting me know what you think of this post, my blog- and leave me your blog link if you have one. I love reading other ones :)

I Want It My Way

Hello, Gorgeous

My days of neglecting my blog are long over. Whenever I dislike something, I refuse to touch it, look at it or even deal with it. Not the best way to accomplish things, but I have extreme anxiety towards situations or objects that aren't my version of perfect. With that said, I have been dying to blog, but hated my layout, the text never worked, etc. My desires overcame my anxiety, and, after many changes, I present to you my new && improved blog :)

I may be able to restrain myself via video, but my sarcasm and odd humor runs free throughout my writing- as observed by those who follow my constant tweets. Consider this more of my diary than a blog. Read if you dare.

All introductions aside, it's time for my first real post on said interface. With this I introduce my next series. As I do "Outfit of the Days" on Youtube, I will be doing "I want it My Way" on my blog- an item I feature which I WISH I had- and how I would style it with pieces currently in my own closet (hence the "I want it" and "My Way"). My creative styling is truly free to show you all current trends, my obsessions, and how I would wear them. Without further adieu...

I want it:

My Way:
2. Opaque black tights: Target
3. Coach "occasion sequin framed large wristlet" (currently in stock)
4. Silver bead bracelet: Tiffany&Co.
5. Oversized Flower Ring: Tasha, found at TJ Maxx for $24.99
6. Black slouched ankle boots: Forever 21 (Also under $30)

I am obsessed with this grecian holiday Free People dress. The relaxed drop waist keeps the dress from being too formal while still being glamorous. The black opaque tights keep the look winter appropriate without competing with the dress. Other accessories to consider would be a large, jewel encrusted bangle, if an oversized ring is not preferred. The silver clutch picks up the silver in the waist detailing while adding some Holiday sparkle. On a scale of one to fabulous, this is an "I love."
